The Annual Auction is McGrath's biggest fundraiser of the year, and the only time we directly appeal to you for donations. We do passive fundraisers throughout the year (percentages of spirit nights at local venues or kickbacks from certain restaurants on certain nights), but we want to avoid constantly asking you to contribute to the PTO. But that means... this one is a big deal.
The Auction has been a variety of styles of party: sometimes a gala, sometimes a trivia night, and sometimes a casino night! Have ideas for a great party? Feel free to let us know!
A few weeks before the event, our auction website will go into "preview mode" when you can start to see all of the items that will be available for the silent auction and for the raffle. A week before the event, you can start bidding on silent auction items -- and don't forget to come back to the site to see if you've been outbid!
On the night of the auction, you will be able to buy raffle tickets from some of McGrath's finest 5th Grade Students to try your luck at those options.
And of course, don't forget to save up for some of the hottest items during the *live* auction! It gets pretty heated...
Great question! So many Kindergarten parents don't know the answer to this and they end up missing out on some of the most fun -- and community building -- events we have!
Families within our McGrath community have generously offered to host "sign up parties." This means that they pick a day, time, and venue (and pay for the cost of the party- thank you!), and then it's your turn to "sign up" and pay for tickets to the parties you are excited to attend! All of the money you spend on tickets goes directly to our fundraising efforts. You get to attend a super fun, one of a kind party in our community, and we earn money for the kids! Win-win.

The largest portion of our budget supports classroom needs, including software the school district is unable to provide and additional classroom supplies. We also fund schoolwide community events such as Fall Fest, Movie Night, Winter Carnival, and Halloween parties. All of our events are free to ensure they are accessible to every family. In addition, PTO funds help provide extra field trip opportunities so students can enjoy more than one experience each year. And of course, we prioritize teacher and staff appreciation. We aim to host at least one special appreciation day each month to help our teachers and staff feel valued and supported, along with a dedicated appreciation week in the spring.
